LINGLE – The countdown begins, the anticipation of summer eagerly approaching, the weather finally cooperating…wait-Mother Nature is confused again.
What all students, teachers, and parents are anticipating is the end of the school year. It is bitter-sweet, but filled with a sense of relief. Maintaining focus and motivation at the end of the year is difficult, for Miles Limmer and Nickole Sorrick, they are focused on the finish line, and ending the school year in a first-class way. Fourth quarter Dogger of the Quarter honors are bestowed upon the junior and freshman for their determination to finish the school year strong and with distinguished class.
Miles Limmer, son of Shane and Cherie Limmer, is a junior (for a few more days) at L-FL high school. Miles was nominated and voted in as the male Dogger of the Quarter for the fourth quarter by the faculty and staff.
Miles, a humble young man, was surprised when he was told of being honored with this award. Miles questioned whether he was dreaming or this was reality.
Miles works for Stoeger Lawn Care and Snow Removal, choosing to work and learn a trade that he can take into his post-secondary life.
“It is a high honor,” Miles said, grinning from ear to ear when talking about being awarded. Miles offers other students the following advice, “Live life, have fun, do your homework, come to school, and never give up.”
He can hardly believe his senior year is approaching so quickly, but he is ecstatic to end the year on such a high note.
Freshman Nickole Sorrick is the daughter of Victor and Joann Sorrick. She is being recognized as the female Dogger of the Quarter for the fourth quarter of the 2019 school year.
She is a shy and reserved young lady who strives to give her best in all areas of her life. Nickole is involved in the North Hills Baptist Church youth group and plans to go on a mission trip to Los Angeles, Calif., in early June.
This recognition is no surprise to her teachers. Nickole is a compassionate and caring young lady, who exemplifies the highest character skills in all areas. Nickole was “very surprised” when she was told she was being recognized. She believes in including others in school activities, classwork, and offering those who maybe do not feel they belong a welcoming embrace.
L-FL faculty and staff are pleased to recognize these two distinguished students. Go Doggers.
