Community Blood Drive May 22

TORRINGTON – Residents are invited to give the gift of life and register for a chance to win a new Harley Davison motorcycle.
Lincoln Community Complex in Torrington will host a Community Blood Drive Monday, May 22, from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Every donor will be registered to win a new Harley Davidson. Drawing for the motorcycle will be held after
June 31.
To schedule an appointment call (307) 638-3326 or visit www.bloodhero.com. Sponsor code for the local drive is “Torrington.” Donors may complete the online health history via computer, smartphone or tablet. The questionnaire is not compatible with some devices.

New student registration set for EWC

TORRINGTON – Eastern Wyoming College has announced that new student registration will be held for Goshen County students on May 30, 2017 at the main campus in Torrington.  Students will meet with an advisor and register for the Fall 2017 semester.
Students will have the opportunity to begin with the ACCUPLACER placement exams, if needed.  This placement exam is used to ensure placement into the appropriate English, reading and math courses.  There is a fee of $20 for these computer-based exams.  Students should bring a calculator for the mathematics portion of the test.
Financial Aid staff will be available to assist students with the financial aid process and preparing the Free Application for Federal Student
Aid (FAFSA).

Lifeway to host VBS

FORT LARAMIE – “Galactic Starveyors” is the title of an upcoming Vacation Bible School set for June at the Fort Laramie Community
Center here.
Lifeway Fort Laramie of Torrington will host the VBS for students in preschool through sixth grade from 6 to 7:45 p.m., June 12 – 16. The event will feature music, crafts, games and more, all around the general theme, “Searching the Visible, Discover the Invisible.”

Big Horn Festival tickets now on sale

BUFFALO – Tickets are now on sale for the Big Horn Mountain Festival, set for July 7 – 9
in Buffalo.
Special advance discount tickets are available until May 31.
“We have an outstanding lineup for 2017,” said Paul Jarvis, one of the organizers of the event. “In addition to our great lineup of well known, established musicians, we have several Wyoming bands and some great young talent.”
The 2017 Big Horn Mountain festival has scheduled an outstanding lineup of Bluegrass, Old Time, Folk, and progressive music. Tickets for the festival can be obtained at Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, The Sports Lure in Buffalo, CB Music in Sheridan, Music Service Center in Gillette, or on-line at www.bighorn
mountainfestival.com.
The Big Horn Mountain Festival will begin at the Johnson County Fairground in Buffalo early Friday afternoon, July 7 and run until late Sunday afternoon, July 9. In addition to the outstanding band performances, festival participants can attend several of the performer’s workshops. Parking lot jam sessions are a favorite feature of
the festival.
The festival also offers the Big Horn Bluegrass Camp, July 5 – 7, a day camp for kids from 8-18. The camp features music instruction from the camp bands, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades and Prairie Wildfire. Sign up on line at www.bighornmountainfestival.com.
