Lifeway to host VBS
FORT LARAMIE – “Galactic Starveyors” is the title of an upcoming Vacation Bible School set for June at the Fort Laramie Community Center here.
Lifeway Fort Laramie of Torrington will host the VBS for students in preschool through sixth grade from 6 to 7:45 p.m., June 12 – 16. The event will feature music, crafts, games and more, all around the general theme, “Searching the Visible, Discover
the Invisible.”

GoCo Dems to meet
TORRINGTON – The Goshen County Democratic Party will host its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, in the Goshen County Library Annex. The public is invited
to attend.

Veteran Appreciation Day
TORRINGTON – Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2918 in Torrington will host a Veterans Appreciation Celebration in honor of Flag Day, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14 at the post hall, west of the school administration building on West 25th Avenue, in Torrington.
The community at large is invited to enjoy free food and entertainment while saying thank you and honoring veterans. Educational booths with Veteran Administration benefits information will also be available.

Hawk Springs Hamburger Fry
HAWK SPRINGS – Bring your appetites to the Hawk Springs Community Building from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, for the annual Hawk Springs Hamburger Fry.
Fresh grilled burgers, along with a full board of salads, baked beans, hot dogs and an assortment of desserts will be available. Cost for the feed is $7 for adults and $3 for children age 6 to 11. Children under 6 years old eat free.
Tickets will be on sale for a 50/50 raffle for $1 each or six for $5. Drawing for the raffle will be held during the August Hamburger Fry on Aug. 9.

The summer hamburger fries provide the main source of revenue for maintenance and upkeep of the Community Building, which features a stage and sound system and is available for rental throughout the year. Children are invited to try out the refurbished playground equipment on the Community Building.

Art debut set
TORRINGTON – All Saints Episcopal Church in Torrington will host the first public exhibition of a collection of religious art.
The collection, Painted Parables by Mary Ellen Kastner, will be on exhibit at the church, located at 2601 Main Street in Torrington. An opening reception will be from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 17, at the church.
The collection of paintings and mandalas come from Ms. Kastner’s sketch books, some dating back to the 1970s

Polka in Pine Bluffs
PINE BLUFFS – The Pine Bluffs Heritage Society will host an afternoon Polka Dance party on Saturday, June 17, at the Historic Pine Bluffs High School.
Music will be provide by The River Boys.
The party will begin with dinner at 1 p.m. and dancing is scheduled from 2 to 6 p.m. at the school, located at 603 Elm Street in Pine Bluffs. Cost is $15 per person or $25 per couple, which includes the meal.

“Look Good…Feel Better” class registration open
 SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb., – Women currently undergoing cancer treatment are invited to “Look Good…Feel Better,” a free class offered by Regional West
Cancer Services.
During “Look Good…Feel Better” sessions, trained volunteer cosmetologists teach women how to cope with skin changes and hair loss using cosmetics and skin care products donated by the cosmetic industry. The free cosmetic kits provided at group sessions are valued at over $200 each and are available in light, medium, dark, and extra dark shades to enhance all complexion types. Women also learn ways to cover hair loss with wigs, scarves, and other accessories.

The class will be offered Saturday, June 24 at 9 a.m. at Regional West Medical Center’s Cancer Treatment Center, 3911 Avenue B, Scottsbluff, Neb. The classes are free, but class sizes are limited and registration is required. To register call the Cancer Treatment Center at (308) 630.1348.

Big Horn Festival tickets now on sale
BUFFALO – Tickets are now on sale for the July 7, 8 and 9, 2017 Big Horn Mountain Festival, set for July 7 – 9 in Buffalo.
Special advance discount tickets are available until May 31.
“We have an outstanding lineup for 2017,” said Paul Jarvis, one of the organizers of the event. “In addition to our great lineup of well known, established musicians, we have several Wyoming bands and some great young talent.”
The 2017 Big Horn Mountain festival has scheduled an outstanding lineup of Bluegrass, Old Time, Folk, and progressive music. Tickets for the festival can be obtained at Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, The Sports Lure in Buffalo, CB Music in Sheridan, Music Service Center in Gillette, or on-line at www.bighorn
mountainfestival.com.
The Big Horn Mountain Festival will begin at the Johnson County Fairground in Buffalo early Friday afternoon, July 7 and run until late Sunday afternoon, July 9. In addition to the outstanding band performances, festival participants can attend several of the performer’s workshops. Parking lot jam sessions are a favorite feature of the festival.
The festival also offers the Big Horn Bluegrass Camp, July 5 – 7, a day camp for kids from 8-18. The camp features music instruction from the camp bands, Horseshoes and Hand Grenades and Prairie Wildfire. Sign up on line at www.bighornmountainfestival.com.
