CHEYENNE – The National Weather Service forecasting office in Cheyenne has issued a Blizzard Warning for all of Goshen and Laramie counties in Wyoming and all of the Nebraska Panhandle, starting early Wednesday and continuing through the day on Thursday.

Blizzard condition associated with Winter Storm Ulmer is expected to bring heavy snow and strong winds, with total snow accumulations forecast from 10 to 18 inches. Winds can be expected to gust as much as 60 miles per hour, with the most intense winds expected to begin Wednesday afternoon.

Travel is forecast to be very difficult to impossible due to snow-packed roads. Blowing snow could significantly reduce visibility and create white-out conditions, impacting morning or evening commute. Strong winds could cause tree damage with sporadic power outages possible.

Conditions are forecast to improve and the blizzard warning expire by 6 p.m. Thursday.
