DUBOIS – The National Museum of Military Vehicles, located near Dubois, Wyoming, is hosting its first-ever Restoration Shop Program on Saturday, January 13th. It will repeat the program on Saturday, February 17th for those unable to attend the January session. Register at the museum’s guest services desk by 10:00 a.m. on the day of the program to be directed to the main meeting room. Normal museum admission rates apply.

U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today announced that it is hiring 40 Climate Change Fellows to help with the record numbers of applications from farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses seeking funding for clean energy projects under the Rural Energy for America Program (REAP). The new positions are being funded by the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), the nation’s largest-ever investment in combatting the climate crisis, a key pillar of Bidenomics and part of the Investing in America agenda.

CHEYENNE (WNE) – The Wyoming Department of Transportation has issued a Request for Information to gauge interest from potential station owners interested in participating in the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program.

SHERIDAN (WNE) – Wyoming once again faced an increased risk from aquatic invasive species in 2023 but remains free of invasive mussels.

Those interested can now bid on 13 animals from the state bison herd. Bidding is open at the Hot Springs State Park office in Thermopolis until 4 p.m. Jan. 16.

On December 27, 2023, Secretary of State Chuck Gray sent a letter to U.S. Postal Service Postmaster General Louis DeJoy opposing the Postal Service’s proposal to move mail processing operations from Cheyenne to Denver. Secretary Gray’s letter came in response to the Postal Service’s announcement of its mail processing facility review of processing operations at the Cheyenne Processing and Distribution Center in Cheyenne, and its proposal to move mail processing operations from the Cheyenne Processing and Distribution Center to the Denver Processing and Distribution Center.

Wyoming Game and Fish biologists and technicians have spent the last year and a half feeding four captive bobcats ground meat infected with chronic wasting disease. The study isn’t to see if bobcats can contract the disease — it hasn’t been shown to cross the species barrier to carnivores like big cats — the goal is to see what comes out the other end.

“About 31% of all traffic crash fatalities in the United States involve drunk drivers with blood alcohol contents of .08 g/dL or higher. In 2021, there were 13,384 people killed in these preventable crashes,” according to the United States Department of Transportation. “In fact, on average over the 10-year period from 2012-2021, about 10,850 people died every year in drunk-driving crashes,” continues the report.

Members of the Rock Springs Resource Management Plan Task Force are urging the public to send their comments as soon as possible.

Eastern Wyoming College hosted the EWC Drone Cup Challenge on Dec. 2 in the Agricultural Technology Education Center (ATEC) located on the north campus in Torrington.

Chadron State College has announced 365 names on the President’s List. A cumulative grade point average of at least is required for the academic honor.

Chadron State College has announced the 356 names on the Dean’s List. A cumulative grade point average of at leat 3.5 is required for the academic honor. To qualify for the honor, students must be enrolled in 12 credit hours of coursework, be seeking their first bachelor’s degree, and have no incomplete grades during the semester. Cities and states listed are the home address provided by the students.

Sweaty hands and racing hearts gathered at Southeast High School for the Southeast FFA Chapter Leadership Night on Tuesday evening.

Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) held a special, highly informative CDL presentation Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. for the enlightening purpose of ensuring safe and drug free work policies for all CDL drivers, students, instructors and business owners throughout Goshen County.

The children in the community got to take part in this tradition on Saturday, Dec. 16 at the Goshen County Library for its annual “Cozy Christmas Storytime Open House” event.
