A line of pheasant hunters and area residents wait patiently for their once-a-year treat of chicken and noodles over mashed potatoes, along with green beans, dinner roll, choice of salads and homemade pies, and a beverage. The feast is prepared by the Yoder Womanís Club, as they continue a tradition that began in 1952. Saturdayís lunch consists of chili and hamburgers. Coffee and pie are available each morning. Proceeds are used for community projects and scholarships. Younger volunteers come from as far as Scottsbluff, Neb., to help on Sunday.
