KERSEY, Colo. – The Torrington High School cross country team traveled south to Kersey, Colorado for the Platte Valley Invite on Friday.

The Blazers took a smaller group than normal due to sickness and injuries, according to coach Kelsey Grant. They took three in both the boys’ and girls’ division, resulting in not having enough to record team scores at the meet.

In the boys’ division, sophomore Sully Wilson kept his win streak alive, winning his fourth consecutive cross country meet. He completed his race in 17 minutes, 49.86 seconds. Wilson was the lone runner in the sub-18-minute bracket of the race. Cade Green of Wiggins (Colorado) High School was second in 18:05.59.

Senior Zab Munoz was fifth in 18:31.61, while freshman Brody Harrison was 52nd in 26:26.36.

In the girls’ division, the Lady Blazers had a pair finish in the top 10, led by sophomore Kaycee Kosmicki with a seventh-place finish in 23:41.84. Junior Callie Taylor was ninth in 24:06.59. Freshman Cora Taylor was 39th in 27:30.73.
