BUFFALO – Funeral services for William (Bill) Welsh, 81, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at the Oregon Trails Cemetery in Casper with Pastor Tim Adams officiating.
Bill passed away Monday, May 20, 2019, at the Veteran’s Home of Wyoming in Buffalo.

William Thomas Welsh was born July 24, 1937, in Lander to Gerald (Gerry) and Olive (Hayes) Welsh. The family moved from Lander to Torrington, where Gerald went to work for Kansas Nebraska Gas company. Bill attend Torrington schools – graduating from Torrington High School. He enlisted in the Navy in January 1955 and was active thru July 1958, when he returned to Torrington.
While in Torrington he met Beverly Miller and they were married in 1960. Not able to find work in Torrington – Bill reenlisted in the Navy in 1960. Bill made a career in the Navy – dedicating 30 years of service to our country. He retired from the Navy in 1984 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer.  
After his service in the Navy, Bill resided in Casper while attending college for Computer Science, earning an Associate’s degree. Bill then moved to Glenwood Calif.,, where he worked in the computer field for several years.
On Nov. 14, 1996, Bill married Jane Zhang and they resided in Glenwood until Bill moved to Casper in 2007. Bill enjoyed his daily routine of breakfast at Johnny J’s diner and coffee with the guys at the local VFW where he was an active member.
Bill is survived by wife Jane Welsh of Glenwood, brother Jim (Florence) Welsh of Gillette, son Rodney (Thyra) Welsh of Omaha Neb., and granddaughter Abigail Welsh of Omaha.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert, Jackie, Richard, sister Sally and grandson Evan.
