TORRINGTON – Wanda Ione Moyer Millsap McKelvey passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30. Cremation has taken place and interment of her cremains will be in Valley View Cemetery in Torrington.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 15, and the Friendship Senior Center in Torrington.
Wanda was born on July 14, 1920, in Torrington to Edson and Fern Estes Moyer. She graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1939.
On May 28, 1939, she married Harold Alfred Millsap in Harrison, Neb., and became a farm wife. They lived on a farm/ranch one mile north of Torrington. Harold passed away on Oct. 22, 1957. From this union, two daughters were born: Ronda Rae and Dallas Kayle.
On May 18, 1962, Wanda married Mike KcKelvey in Mitchell, Neb. Mike passed away on Nov. 4, 1997. They spent many enjoyable retirement years in Arizona before moving back to Torrington.
Survivors include daughters Ronda Pratt of Spokane, Wash., and Dallas Hincks of Meridian, Idaho; stepson Garland (Francine) McKelvey of Escondido, Calif.; grandchildren Kerry (David) Toney of Spokane, Kyla (Tory) South of Meridian, Karisa Hincks of Boise, Idaho, Dakota Hincks of Baker, Mont.; six great-grandchildren: Cynthia, Alyssa, and Callie Toney; Abi Haines, Summer Southam, and Nathan Peterson; two half-sisters: Emily (Gary) Darnel and Karol van Borkum; and four half-brothers: Darrell (Phyllis) Moyer, Duane (Marlene) Moyer, Tom (Carman) Moyer, and Merlin (Mary) Moyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, an infant sister Veda Marcine, an infant brother Dale Eugene, and brother Loyal Moyer.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the caregivers at A Peaceful Place Adult Family Home and Horizon Hospice for their support in her final days.
