LINGLE – No services will be held at this time for Vienna M. Schick, 83, who died at the Memorial Hospital of Converse County in Douglas on July 26, 2017. Cremation has taken place. The Colyer Funeral Home assisted the family with the cremation arrangements.
Vienna was born Dec. 7, 1933, in Smith Center, Kan., the daughter of Newell and Leona (Lemon) Jarvis. She grew up and received her education in Kansas, later moving with her family to the Goshen County area.
She married Leonard Schick on May 10, 1952, in Scottsbluff, Neb. They lived in Colorado for 10 years where Leonard worked. They moved to the Torrington area, where they farmed for many years. Mainly on the Art Wolski farm on Sugar Factory road five miles south of Lingle. They retired and moved into Lingle. Leonard died in 2001.
Vienna enjoyed reading, gardening mainly flowers and was an excellent cook. She was a member of the Lingle Presbyterian Church where she had served as a deacon and was the assistant Den Mother for the Boy Scouts for two years.
Vienna is survived by three daughters Pam Schick of Lingle, Marilyn Lenae Miller of Torrington and Kimberly Addy of Papillion, Neb.; a son Michael Schick of Lingle; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son Ronald Schick; a brother Douglas Jarvis; and a granddaughter.
