TORRINGTON – Funeral services for Victor H. Brunkhardt, 93, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Our Savior Lutheran Church with the Rev. Scott Firminhac officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Valley View Cemetery. 

Victor died June 18, 2018, at The Village at Regional West in Scottsbluff, Neb. Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation will be Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home and the casket will be open prior to the service at the church. Victor was born April 6, 1925, in Hillrose, Colo., the son of Jacob and Katherine (Lauck) Brunkhardt. He grew up and received his education in Hillrose, graduating high school there in 1944. He married Marjorie Stumpf on Aug. 6, 1944. He served in the U.S. Army from 1944 until 1946. They moved to Chappel, Neb., where he farmed and ranched for 35 years. They moved to Lyman, Neb., in March 2005. Marjorie died in August 2014. He entered The Village in January 2018.

Victor enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.

Victor is survived by three daughters Norma (Howard) Romick of Alliance, Neb., Katherine (David) Brening of Lyman and Teresa (Hoss) Cross of Lyman; a son Ronald Brunkhardt of Henry, Neb.; a sister Theresa Kautz of Denver, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Marjorie; a grandson Wiley Cross; a grandson-in-law John Nielson; one sister, Helen; and four brothers, William, Harold, Robert and Albert.
