UPDATE: Goshen County Coroner Darin Yates has identified the victim of the May 24 stabbing in Fort Laramie as Wade Erschabek, 32, of Guernsey.
The suspect, Jamie Snyder, remains in the Goshen County Jail on Friday pending charges of first degree murder, according to a Goshen County Sheriff's Department press release.
TORRINGTON – One man is dead and another in jail following a report of a stabbing Thursday afternoon in Fort Laramie.
According to a press release from Goshen County Undersheriff Jeremy Wardell, Jamie Snyder, 26, of Fort Laramie, was jailed on unspecified charges following the incident. Emergency medical personnel from Fort Laramie and Torrington were dispatched to the scene at around 3:11 p.m. Thursday.
The victim, whose name is currently being withheld pending notification of family, was taken to Torrington Community Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The incident remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office, with assistance from the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation Crime Lab and the Goshen County Coroner’s Office.
