TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Veva Georgella (Brown) Sauder, 90, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 at the Riverside Church of Christ with the Rev. Tom Gorache and the Rev. Gary Flom officiating.

Mrs. Sauder died Jan. 28, 2017 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center in Cheyenne and cremation has taken place. Burial of the ashes will take place at a later date in Julesburg, Colo.

Veva was born July 31, 1926, in Julesburg, Colo. the daughter of George and Ella May (Zimmerman) Brown. She grew up and received her education in Julesburg, graduating high school from Sedgwick County High School.

She worked as a seamstress at the Dry Cleaners.

She married Albert Doughty and they were later divorced. She was a homemaker and farmers wife until 1963 when she started work as a bookkeeper at a savings and loan.

She married Jack Sauder in 1965 and they moved to Imperial, Neb., where she worked seven years at the local co-op. They moved to Plattsmouth, Neb. in 1972, where she started work as a bookkeeper for the Plattsmouth Community Schools.

She retired in 1991 and they moved to Torrington in 2001.

Mrs. Sauder was a member of the Scottsbluff Church of Christ, the Riverside Church of Christ, the Goshen County Quilt Guild and TOPS. She enjoyed quilting and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Jack, of Torrington; daughters Angie Brown of Deer Park, Texas, and Lori Baker of Westminster, Colo.; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Everett Brown; three sisters, Ada Taylor, Ollie Caster and Alta Brandt; a son, Lynn Doughty; and a great-grandson Christian Martinez.
