TORRINGTON – Students at Valley Christian School entertained guests recently at the annual VCS Soup Supper Fundraiser.
Valley Christian hosted their annual soup supper with silent and live auctions to raise money for the school.
“All of the auction items are donated by the community, Scottsbluff, our parents bring items for the auction. We have about 108 volunteers to run this. All of the staff is working too,” Valley Christian Principal Cheryl Stoeger said.
Landon Nicodemus and Logan Schliinz hosted the live auction with some help from the students following the close of the silent auctions after dinner.
Stoeger said the fundraiser generates an average of $50,000 to help with associated costs of the school.
“It just goes to make up for tuition that doesn’t cover all the costs. Our tuition covers about 42 percent of the school, so it just helps bridge that gap,” Stoeger said.
This year there were approximately 800 people in attendance.
Face paint artists available to transform sweet five year-olds into howling wolf machines were the supper’s life of the party for kids.
