GILLETTE – The Torrington High School indoor track and field returned to action Saturday for the second of three state qualifying events in Gillette, and the Lady Blazers finished third and the boys fourth.

THS picked up five first-place finishes on the day, including four by the girls’ team.

Junior Jordan Stoddard scored two of the four wins on the day, getting wins in the 200-meter dash and high jump.

Stoddard won the 200 in 27.7 seconds and was the only runner in the field to run a sub-28 second race. Hailey Boslau (29.68 seconds) and Kameron Stitt (29.8 seconds) placed fourth and fifth.

In high jump, Stoddard cleared 5-feet, 1-inch. Her next closest competitor cleared 4-11. Allison Brummell finished fourth at 4-9.

The Lady Blazers also got a win in the 4x800-meter relay. Sera Glass, Ada Merrigan, Tylar Stoddard and Tyne Stokes won the event in 10 minutes, 39.31 seconds.

Brummell picked up the other win for the THS girls. Her leap of 15-10.5 was good enough to win long jump. Stitt finished fourth in the same event at 15-3.

Jordan Stoddard and Still also finished second and third, respectively in the 55-meter dash finals, while Stokes finished fourth in the 400-meter dash in 1:06.65. Boslau was sixth in the 400, and Tylar Stoddard finished 10th.

In the 800-meter run, Glass was fourth in 2:37, while Merrigan finished fifth in the 3,200-meter run in 14:16.89.

As a team, the Lady Blazers finished third with 92 points. Sheridan won the team title with 139.6, and Cody was second with 107.6.

In the boys’ division, Kyland Fuller scored the only win for the Blazer boys.

His time of 2:07.62 was six seconds faster than second place in the 800-meter run. Timothy Randolph was third in 2:21.15.

In the 55-meter dash finals, Cody Pierce finished seventh in 7.11 seconds. Pierce also finished sixth in the 200-meter dash in 25.11.

In the mile, Weston Cronk placed sixth in 5:14.44, and in the 3,200-meter run, Aydan Loya was fourth in 11:38.20.

In field events, Loya placed sixth in high jump at 5-4, and Rave Rising was 12th in shot put in 36-1.

The Blazers finished tied fourth with 35 points. Sheridan dominated the team title with 278 points, while Lovell was second with 78. Cody was third with 59.

The Torrington indoor track and field team will be back in action on Saturday, Feb. 13 at Natrona County High School in Casper.
