LARAMIE – The Torrington Tigers 15-and-under baseball team handled business in their final road action of the regular season, besting Laramie in both games of a double-header Wednesday, 13-2 and 16-1.
The Tigers opened with hot bats in the first game, with the first four players to take the plate coming around to score. After a quiet second inning, Torrington batted around the order and racked up six runs. The Tigers were shut out in the fourth inning but added another three runs in the fifth inning to seal the big win.

Cameron Murphy and Sam Firminhac led Torrington in scoring, with three runs each in the first game. Kirk Kay added another two runs, with the remaining five runs coming from various Tigers. Firminhac, who had a double, Kay and Sebastian Doucette were the only Tigers with RBIs in the game. As a team, Torrington racked up only seven hits, while drawing nine walks.
Torrington did not get out to such a hot start in the second game, with Murphy being the only Torrington player to score in the first. Tristan Kingsley scored in the second inning before the Tigers blew open the game in the third, with nine runs. Torrington added three in the fourth and another two in the fifth to close out the day.
Kingsley had a solid game, going 3-for-3 at the plate, along with scoring three runs and drawing a walk. Firminhac paced the Tigers at the plate with four hits. Murphy (2), Doucette (3) and Daniel Wayland (3) rounded out the Tigers with multiple hits in the win. Murphy, Firminhac, Wayland, Kingsley and Jackson Jones all cross the plate multiple times in the second game Wednesday.
With the two wins, Torrington advances to 14-11 on the season. They played Wheatland at home last night after press time. Torrington returns to their home diamond to take on Cheyenne tonight (Friday) in a double-header at 5 and 7:30 p.m. The Tigers close out their regular season Tuesday in a home double-header against Gering, Neb., at 5 and 7 p.m.
