RAWLINS – The Torrington High School boys’ basketball team wrapped up the 2021-22 regular season with a 63-38 loss to the Rawlins Outlaws.
Torrington trailed the entire game, shooting just 31.9% from the floor, while allowing Rawlins to shoot 48.2%.
Rawlins held a 20-8 lead after a quarter, pushing it to 29-15 at halftime. The Outlaws added another 16 points in the third quarter, extending the lead to 45-24 heading into the fourth quarter.
Over the final eight minutes of the game, Torrington chipped away at the Rawlins lead, outscoring them 14-8 in the fourth quarter.
Senior Kieser Wolfe led the team with 11 points and five rebounds. Junior Skyler Sargent added five points and five rebounds, while junior Ryan Baker added five points.
The Blazers (6-15) open postseason play at the 3A East Regional Tournament in Burns at 1:30 p.m. against the Douglas Bearcats (20-2). With a win, Torrington would face the winner of Wheatland and Newcastle at 6 p.m. Friday, but with a loss, THS faces the loser of Wheatland and Newcastle at noon on Friday.
