TORRINGTON – The Torrington Trailblazer boys tennis team fell to Sheridan and Laramie on Saturday in a home triangular, while the girls lost to Sheridan but beat Laramie.
Boys
To open the day, Torrington squared off against Sheridan, losing the match 4-1. Brian Fenn and Jaysen Stitt were the only Blazers to win, besting Patrick Kuehl and Kellen Mentock in two sets, 6-4 and 7-6, in No. 1 doubles.
Rounding out doubles action, Levi Wickham and Mason Weis paired up for No. 2 doubles, falling in two sets to Logan Jensen and Trenton Lewallen. Mason Brummell and Koby Ringle also lost their No. 3 doubles match to Tristan Choong and Noah DeGrange in two sets.
On the singles court, Ethan Creagar put up a fight in No. 1 singles, but fell to Quinton Suska in two sets, 6-0 and 6-1. Clay Peterson’s fate was similar, losing his No. 2 singles match in two sets to Ethan Kutz (6-1, 6-3).
After Laramie and Sheridan faced off, Torrington took on Laramie on Saturday afternoon. Again, the No. 1 doubles team were the only Blazers to win, but it was a different pairing. Kelly Peterson and Fenn linked up for the three-set win, 7-5, 0-6 and 6-3.
Wickham and Weis stayed at No. 2 doubles, losing in two sets, 6-1 and 6-1. Stitt was moved into No. 3 doubles, where he paired up with Brummell. The Torrington duo let their match slip away in two sets, 6-0 and 6-1.
