Five students from Torrington Middle School, including Zoe Hoff, Jaydynn Pickens, Nolan Long, Gabrielle David, and Nayeli Loya, along with teachers Stephen Hart, Kelsey Walker, and Dave Burrill, traveled to the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland from June 8th-13. They competed in the National History Day contest. Throughout the week students had an opportunity to present their projects and tour many of the historical sites in Washington D.C. The History Day students also had the opportunity to meet both Senator John Barrasso, and Senator Mike Enzi and had their pictures taken with them at the Capitol.vThe TMS History Day students would like to thank all those businesses, organizations, and individuals who helped in supporting their trip to Maryland and Washington D.C. for the National History Day competition.
