Tigers fall to Scottsbluff

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. – The Torrington Tigers 15-and-under baseball team was failed to rally after giving up four runs in the first inning, falling on the road Tuesday against Scottsbluff, 9-1.
Over the first three innings, the Tigers managed to only bring 11 batters to the plate. In the second inning, they went three up and three down.

In the fourth, Torrington looked to get things started, ending the inning with three base runners. Daniel Wayland came around to score in the inning, putting the score at 4-1. Scottsbluff came back to score three in the bottom of the inning and cruised to the eight-run win.
The Tigers were held hitless in the loss. Two runners got on base on errors (Wayland and Gage Correa), two got on via passed ball (Cameron Murphy and Jackson Jones) and another two drew walks (Gabe Mitchell and Sam Firminhac).
Torrington dropped to .500 on the season with an 11-11 record. The second game against Scottsbluff on Tuesday was rained out.
The Tigers played Alliance, Neb. on Thursday in a double-header after press time. They return to the diamond for their final road regular season games, taking on Laramie at 5 and 7 p.m. Wednesday.
