TORRINGTON – Both Torrington ‘C’ teams were in action last week with mixed results.
On Wednesday, the Tiger C-NE squad swept the Douglas Cats, winning 13-1 and 17-11.
In game one, Torrington lead 2-1 heading into the fourth inning when they exploded for 11 runs.
Mac Hibben paced the team with three hits, while Landre Greiman, Brady Cook, C Kelly and Anthony Moser added two hits apiece. Greiman and Hibben drove in three runs apiece.
Greiman picked up the win, striking out four over five innings.
In game two, the Tigers jumped on Douglas early with five runs in the second inning. They added six more in the third and five in the seventh to pull away for the six-run victory.
Greiman went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBIs, while Ryan Moorehouse was 3-for-3 and three runs scored. Hibben added two hits and three RBIs.
Moser picked up the win on the mound. Over six innings, he struck out three.
The Tiger C-NE team is now 16-3 on the season, and they travel to the Laramie tournament this weekend. They open against Wheatland at 10 a.m. Friday before playing Loveland, Colorado at 4:30 p.m. and Laramie at 7 p.m. Saturday. On Sunday, they wrap up play against Green River at 11:30 a.m.
Tiger C-SE team swept
The Torrington C-SE team was outscored 27-0 during Thursday’s doubleheader against Casper.
In game one, Casper scored six runs in the top of the first inning en route to a 10-0 win over the Tigers. The game last only three innings.
Torrington didn’t record a hit in the loss.
In game two, Casper scored 13 runs in the first as they completed the sweep of Torrington 17-0.
The Tiger C-SE (5-13) squad is back in action at home against Wheatland at 5 and 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29.
