WHEATLAND – As the No. 1 seed out of the East, the Torrington Tigers 15-and-under baseball team proved their right to have that seeding, beating Cody 6-3 Wednesday to kick off the Legion 15U State Tournament.
Full stats were unavailable to the Telegram at press time.
The Tigers were unaware of their opponent heading into Thursday because the Rock Springs and Wheatland game was delayed due to weather until Thursday morning after press time. After a winner was crowned between Rock Springs and Wheatland, they took on the Tigers at 6 p.m. yesterday.
If Torrington snagged a win, they earned themselves a spot in the semi-finals to be played against the tournaments only other undefeated team Friday at 6 p.m. A loss last night would have dropped the Tigers to the lower bracket, forcing them to play at 12:30 p.m. today (Friday).
