THS wrestling falls to Gering

TORRINGTON – In the final home dual of the season, the Torrington High School wrestling team fell to Gering, Neb., 66-6.

Torrington’s lone win of the evening came at 220 pounds when Blazer sophomore Sam Sorenson pinned Gering’s Iziah Blanco late in the second period.

For the remainder of the dual, the visiting Bulldogs picked up seven victories by fall and four by forfeit. Both teams were open at 126 and 285 pounds.

The Blazers are back in action Friday at the Wheatland Duals. Action gets underway at 1 p.m. when Torrington faces Wheatland, Newcastle and Lingle-Fort Laramie/Southeast.
