SHERIDAN – The Torrington High School cross country runners concluded their season Saturday afternoon in Sheridan.
The Lady Blazers finished 11th as a team with 281 points. Jackson won the team title with 45 points, while Cody was second with 93. Buffalo was third with 106.
Sera Glass led Torrington with a 24th-place finish in 21 minutes, 6.29 seconds. Kelci Lovercheck placed 53rd in 22:37.03. Cora Frederick came home 56th in 22:41.14, while Jenna Kaufman finished 71st in 23:38.72. Jennifer Manus rounded out the Lady Blazer roster in 25:03.54 to place 85th.
Sydney Thorvalson of Rawlins won the individual title in 17:34.68, winning the state meet by a minute and a half and setting a new course record.
In the boys’ division, Jacob Polkowske led Torrington with a time of 19:20.93 to place 71st. Kevin Parish crossed the finish line in 20:09.54 to come home 90th, while Tristan Kingsley placed 96th in 20:30.95. Weston Cronk was 97th in 20:33.93, while Nicholas Sherbeyn was 102nd in 22:05.65.
The Blazers finished 15th with 427 points. Jackson won the team championship with 42 points. Star Valley was second with 54, and Lander Valley placed third with 96.
Peter Visser of Star Valley won the individual championship in 15:56.21.
