THS rolls to 41-20 win over Rawlins

RAWLINS – The Torrington Blazers scored early and often en route to a 41-20 victory over the Rawlins Outlaws Friday evening in Rawlins.

Byran Lemmon and Trace English found the end zone in the first quarter with runs of 2 and 8 yards to put the Blazers in front 14-0 heading to the second quarter.

In the second, Josh Posten found the end zone twice – once through the air and once the ground. Lemmon scored for the second time in the game on a 21-yard run.

The Blazers kept the momentum rolling into the third as Lemmon punched his third score of the game in the end zone. This time from two yards out.

In the fourth quarter, it was all Rawlins.

The Outlaws scored three times to close the gap against the Torrington second string, but it wasn’t enough.

The Blazers racked up 466 yards of total offense, including 293 yards of rushing and four touchdowns.

Lemmon rushed for 182 yards on 18 carries and three scores, while Posten added 39 yards on four attempts. Quarterback Casey Britton was 14-of-16 for 173 yards. Posten and Cade Schwartzkopf caught a combined nine passes, recording 69 yards apiece.

No defensive stats were available from the game.

The Blazers will host Evanston at 7 p.m. Friday at Wiseman Field in the opening round of the Class 3A State Playoffs.
