THS holds awards ceremony

TORRINGTON – Torrington High School held an award ceremony on Tuesday leading up to graduation on May 22. 

Scholar Athletes

The scholar athlete award recognizes one boy and one girl athlete, from each grade level, for their academic success throughout the year. The student athletes receiving the Scholar Athlete Award have all participated in three sports and have the highest GPA in their respected class.

Freshmen: Teryn Stokes and Brayden Hime. Sophomores: Alyssa Wondercheck and Adam Bartlett. Juniors: Amberly Froerer and Sam Birdsall. Seniors: Tyne Stokes, Reece Halley and Cole Parriott.

Academic All-Conference

To reward student athletes for maintaining a high academic record throughout their high school career. To instill the idea of academic performance in school to coincide with athletic performance. Guidelines: Senior, Varsity letterman, 3.3 plus GPA over grades 9-11, ACT score of 25 plus, completed graduation requirements.
