CHEYENNE – The Torrington High School wrestling team finished the Cheyenne Duals winless with losses to all three Cheyenne high schools – East, South and Central.

The Blazers fell to Cheyenne East, 67-9.

Torrington’s Sam Sorenson and Reece Grubbs picked up the lone wins in the match.

At 220 pounds, Sorenson pinned Josiah Aragon in 2:37 to pick up the first points for the Blazers, while Grubbs scored a 10-3 win over Alleynah Ronnau.

Later that day, Torrington held a late lead on Cheyenne South, but two open weights late in the match ultimately led the Bison to a 39-36 victory.

After an open weight at 132 to begin the dual, Michael Sandusky scored the Blazers’ first win of the match with a fall at 3:47 to tie the match at six.

South picked up wins at 145 and 152 before Matthew Hellus nabbed a quick fall in 1:06. South got another win at 170 but was open at 182, 195 and 220, giving Torrington a 30-21 lead.

South was back in the win column at 106, and Reece Grubbs scored the final points of the day with a forfeit win at 113.

Torrington was open at 120 and 126 to close out the match.

The Blazers also fell to the Cheyenne Central Indians, but no score nor individual results were available at press time.
