BUFFALO – The Torrington High School golf team traveled to Buffalo over the weekend to the Buffalo Invite held at the Buffalo Golf Club.
The Lady Blazers were led by Madyson Banister, who shot 100 for the day. Kaleigh Waymire fired a 109, while Kaylee Pittman shot a 111. Grace Kelly shot a 115, while Sarah Birdsall had a 125.
As a team, the Lady Blazers shot 320 to finish fifth. Sheridan won the team title with 235, while Kelly Walsh was second with 242.
In the boys’ division, Gage Gibson fired a low round 85 to lead the Blazers. Mason Wilkes and Alex Waring tied with an 89, while Braeden Reid was one shot back with a 90. Caleb Kelly shot a 96.
As a team, the Blazers shot 353 for the day. Campbell County won the team title with 318, while Kelly Walsh was second with 327.
“Overall, it wasn’t our best day, but a few kids had one of their best days of the spring,” coach Jeff Halley said.
The Blazers wrap up the spring season Thursday at Wheatland.
