DOUGLAS – The Torrington High School golf teams opened the 2021 spring season at the Douglas Spring Invite.
A total of 13 teams took advantage of the nicer weather on Friday.
Ryder Hackbarth paced the boys’ team with a 93, while Gage Gibson shot a 96. Boyd Oliver finished the round with a 98. Alex Waring fired a 108, and Reece Grubbs shot a 139.
None of the Blazers finished in the top 10. In fact, all of the top 10 placers came from the 4A schools, led by Cheyenne Central’s Caden Jackson with a round of 72.
In the girls’ division, it was much the same – dominated by the Class 4A golfers.
Sydney Eaton led the Lady Blazers with a 111, while Lauren Orr shot a 127. Carleigh Dugger had a 149 and Kaylee Pittman ended the day with a 161.
Torrington hosts its spring tournament on Friday, April 30. Tee time is scheduled for 10 a.m.
