TORRINGTON – The Torrington High School girls’ soccer team suffered a pair of conference losses over the weekend, scoring only one goal while giving up 12.

On Friday, the Lady Blazers took a 1-0 lead on Buffalo, but the Lady Bison scored six straight unanswered goals in the loss.

The next day, Torrington dropped a 6-0 match to a winless Riverton Lady Wolverine team.

The teams were scoreless until the 38th minute when Riverton connected on a shot just past the diving Jenessa Derby.

The match got out of hand in the early moments of the second half when Riverton scored in the 42nd and 47th minutes of the match.

Torrington managed only three shot attempts for the game.

The second shot came in the 54th minute when senior Kameron Stitt’s shot bounced off the top cross bar of the goal.

Riverton added three more goals in the 56th, 60th and 65th minutes of the contest for their first win of the season.

The two losses drop the Lady Blazers to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the 3A East.

Torrington hosts Rawlins at 3 p.m. Friday and Newcastle at 1:15 p.m. Saturday.
