TORRINGTON – The Torrington Lady Trailblazers girls soccer team suffered three losses at the Pinnacle Challenger Cup in Worland over the weekend, finishing 14th.
The Lady Blazers started the tournament against second-ranked Star Valley, falling 5-1. The loss dropped Torrington to a game against Lander, who lost its first game 4-0 against Evanston. The Lady Tigers beat the Lady Blazers 5-0 earlier this season, but in the non-conference game Friday in Worland, Torrington lost by a slimmer margin, 4-1.
Torrington had a bye to open up action on Saturday, along with their opponent for the 13th-place matchup. Pinedale got the better of Torrington in a 1-0 decision, sliding the Blazers in the 14th-place spot.
Torrington 2, Newcastle 2
On Thursday, before heading off to the tournament in Worland, the Lady Blazers were on the road against Newcastle. The Lady Dogies and Lady Blazers played to a 2-2 draw.
Stats for all games were unavailable to the Telegram at press time.
Torrington dropped to 0-7-1 on the year, with an 0-1 record in the conference. The Lady Blazers return to action Tuesday to host Scottsbluff, Neb. at 6 p.m. Torrington will be looking for revenge against the Lady Bearcats, who beat the Lady Blazers 11-1 earlier this season.
