TORRINGTON – The Torrington High School boys’ soccer team opens the season ranked No. 3 in the first Wyopreps.com Coaches and Media Poll of the season over the weekend.
Worland, the defending Class 3A state champions, are preseason favorites to win it all this season, while Powell is second after finishing runner-up a year ago.
The Blazers are third, receiving two second-place votes, three third-place votes and two fourth and fifth-place votes. Lander Valley is fourth and Cody fifth.
Torrington opens the season this weekend at the Worland Jamboree Tournament March 25-26.
A year ago, Torrington finished 10-2-2, placing fourth at state.
In the girls’ rankings, the Lady Blazers, who finished the year 6-8 and qualifying for the state tournament, received one fifth-place vote heading into the season.
Cody is ranked No. 1, while Lander Valley, Worland, Buffalo and Mountain View are second through fifth, respectively.
The Lady Blazers open the season at the Pinedale Jamboree Tournament March 25-26.
