BUFFALO – Despite eight Torrington Trailblazers scoring Saturday on the road in the regular season finale against Buffalo, the Blazers fell to the top-ranked Bison 63-35.

Buffalo jumped out early over Torrington and was up 39-20 and cruised on to the 28-point win.

Bryan Lemmon was the top scorer for Torrington with nine points, including a three-pointer. He also led the team with seven rebounds, including three on offense, and two steals. Jordan Malm was not far behind in the scoring department with eight points, including Torrington’s only other bucket from behind the arc. Malm chipped in four rebounds, a steal and a team-high three assists.

Jared Lemmon contributed five points, four rebounds and two steals. Nathan Stitt and Sam Firminhac both had four points in the win. Firminhac tied Bryan Lemmon for the most defensive rebounds, with four, while recording the team’s only block. Stitt fill his stat line with three rebounds, an assist and a steal.

Ethan Creagar and Josh Posten chipped in two points apiece, while Bo Moorehouse added a point of his own. Creagar had a rebound, while Posten added a steal and Moorehouse kicked in two assists and a steal. Lathen Canaday also notched a rebound Devin Flores added an assist.

Torrington was limited to 17 percent from behind the arc (2-of-12) and hit only 10-of-37 from the floor. At the charity stripe, Torrington knocked down 13-of-24 for 54 percent on the night.

The Blazers finished the regular season at 11-9, suffering three-straight losses. Torrington’s 3-3 record in the quadrant ties them with Douglas, but the Blazers record against non-quadrant opponents was better than the Bearcats’, so Torrington gets the second seed for the regional tournament. The Blazers kick off the 3A East Regional Tournament on Thursday at 10 a.m. in Douglas against Worland.
