DOUGLAS – The Torrington High School boys’ golf team finished fifth on both days at the Douglas Invite.
Gage Gibson led the Blazers on day one with a round of 87, finishing in a tie for ninth.
Ryder Hackbarth shot a 99, while Malachi Braddy finished the day with a 101. Alex Waring shot a 107, while Josh Stitt ended the round with a 114.
As a team, the Blazers finished fifth with a 394, finishing four strokes behind Cheyenne South. Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East shared the team title with a 338, while Douglas was third with 342.
In the girls’ division, Sydney Eaton fired a 110, while Lauren Orr shot a 136.
On day two, Braddy paced Torrington with an 89, finishing tied for ninth.
The round was a career best for Braddy.
Gibson shot a 97, while Alex Waring had a 109. Josh Stitt rounded out the Blazer scoring with a 113.
As a team, the Blazers shot a 397 to again finish fifth. Cheyenne East won the team title with a 337, while Douglas finished second with 339. Central was third with 343.
In the girls’ division, Eaton shot a 114 and Orr a 137.
The Torrington teams are back in action at home Thursday and Friday. Tee times are scheduled for 9 a.m. both days.
