TORRINGTON – The Torrington High School boys’ tennis team was back in action Tuesday afternoon, hosting Alliance, Neb., and Gering, Neb., and the Blazers came away with a pair of team victories.
THS opened the afternoon with a 6-0 win over the Alliance Bulldogs.
Aidyn Saucedo defeated Brysen Darveau, 8-1, while Isaac Bartlett knocked off Carver Hauptman, 8-2. Ben Firminhac beat Tory Picket Pen, 8-3, and Adam Bartlett and Remi Bremer also picked up singles victories, 9-7.
In the only doubles match of the contest, Cody Clayton and Gabe Russell defeated Pen and Kysen Walker, 8-3.
Later that afternoon, the Blazers defeated Gering, 5-2.
Saucedo scored a 6-2, 6-0 win, while Isaac Bartlett won 6-1, 6-3. Russell picked up an 8-1 singles win, and Clayton won 8-3. Saucedo and Isaac Bartlett also teamed up for an 8-2 doubles victory.
The Blazers are back at home for their final home match of the season when they host Cheyenne Central and Cheyenne East on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Action gets underway at 1 p.m.
