TORRINGTON – Torrington’s Tyler Ring and Jordan Malm were named all-conference and all-state, while Logan Murphy represented the Lady Blazers on the all-conference list.
Ring, the Blazer boys’ lone senior, paced Torrington in three different categories. He amassed 11.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2 steals and 0.7 blocks per game this season. He led Torrington in total rebounds, defensive rebounds (2 DRPG) an blocks. Ring shot 49 percent from the field and 62 percent from the charity stripe.
As a sophomore, Malm topped the stat sheet in scoring for Torrington, chipping in 17.2 points per game. He tied Ring in total rebounds per game, with 6.2, while adding 2 assists, 1 steal and 0.3 blocks per game. He drained 54-of-137 from behind the arc for a 39 percent shooting percentage from three-point land. He also shot 53 percent from inside the arc.
