TORRINGTON – Thomas Lee Jenkins, 73 years old, passed on to his heavenly home in the early morning hours of July 29, 2021. He was born on Nov. 19, 1947, in Torrington to Lyle and Mary Maxine Jenkins. He married Paula J. Benninghoven in 1981 and was blessed with three children. He worked as a Union Laborer at various places. Towards the end of his career, he worked at Frontier Refinery in Cheyenne.

He graduated from Huntley High School in 1967 and obtained his Associates of Science degree in college. He was a member of the Hawk Springs Community Bible Church for many years. He was a very handy man who liked to work with his hands and was a master at making things ordinary into a beautiful work of art. He loved to paint and do crafts. He was a very generous and loving father. He enjoyed spending time with and spoiling his grandkids. He took great pride in being called their “Papa.”

He is survived by his wife, Paula of Torrington; son, Chris (Jill) Jenkins of Torrington; daughter, Angelee (James) Goodro of Torrington; son, Nick (Sydney) Jenkins of Torrington; sister, Alice Pragnell of Bridgeport, Nebraska; brother, Max (Sandy) Jenkins of Thornton, Colorado; sister, Kathy (Larry) Hearn of Cheyenne; brother, John (Janet) Jenkins of Yoder; brother, Mike Jenkins of Denver, Colorado; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyle Jenkins; mother, Mary Maxine Jenkins; three sisters and three brothers. 

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 7, at 1 p.m. at the Hawk Springs Community Bible Church.
