LINGLE – Thomas Dean Daiss was born April 29, 1963, the son of Dean and LaVonne (Blakeley) Daiss in Torrington. He passed away peacefully at home on Nov. 13, after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Cathy, Mother LaVonne, sister Renae (Gary) Rice, brother Bob Daiss and Jessica, Son Duston Daiss and Jillian, daughter Melissa (Dalton) Petsch and his grandson Zayden. He is also survived by his step-daughter, Amanda (Damon) Morey and step-son Nick (Ayla) Day and four additional grandchildren. Tom attended Lingle/Ft. Laramie Schools where he loved to play football and hang out with friends. After graduation he stayed on at the family farm outside of Lingle. Tom never ventured far...in fact he moved a half mile from home where he lived the remainder of his years. He had several employment opportunities over the years but talked mostly about Construction with friends, PanHandle Coop and Brown Company. He was a self-employed contractor before his death. His children and grandchildren were the highlight of his life. Next comes hunting, fishing and pool leagues. Tom and Travis Hatton had a goose pit on Daiss Family Farms for several successful years in the 2 Shot Goose Hunt, finishing 3rd two times, 2nd three times and 1st two times. Tom played pool most of his adult life and was on several championship teams. Per Tom’s request there will be no services. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be spread this spring on the mountain he loved so much. Tom requested a Celebration of Life this spring in his beloved home town of Lingle where he was also an EMT and firefighter in his younger years.

Memorials may be made in his name to Lingle Fire Department, Santa’s Helpers or the Festival of Hope in Scottsbluff, Neb.
