TORRINGTON – Memorial services for Theresa “Rose” Wells, 101, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017, at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Vickie Kintzel officiating. Private family burial of the ashes will take place at a later date. Rose died April 21, 2017, at Goshen Healthcare Community and cremation has taken place. Memorials may be given to the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church. Rose was born in Scottsbluff, Neb., on Feb. 26, 1916, to Henry and Elizabeth Korell. The family farmed and raised sugar beets. They moved to Lingle, where Rose went to school.
On Jan. 2, 1937, she married L.J. “Buck” Wells. They continued to farm. She belonged to the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church in Torrington. Buck died in 1988 and Rose kept her farm going to this date.
Rose is survived by son Russell (Beth Ann) Wells; daughter Janet (Rod) Wagner; daughter-in-law Donna Phipps; six grandchildren Joe (Cindy L.) Wells, Cindy (Keith) Gibbs, Brenda (Kent) Santillanes, Brian (Connie) Wells, Cheri (Corey) Steinmetz, and Boyd (Megan) Wagner; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Buck; her son Lloyd Wells; and all of her brothers and sisters.
