TORRINGTON – Torrington Cinemas was presented with the progress program grant by Goshen Economic Development (GED).

According to a press relase from GED on Monday, the grant will help to offset the cost of repairing the cinemas’ projectors.

“After the theater purchase, the projectors were found in disrepair and needing work. Brandon and Marie Flanagan opened Torrington Cinemas at the end of March,” the release stated. “GED is thankful the Flanagan’s reopened this staple of downtown Torrington.”

The grant is funded through the one-quarter-cent sales tax which is used for economic development funding for businesses in the county.
