TORRINGTON – Mondell Toman and Cameron Atwood have been named the 2017 recipients of the Hovis Arts Awards by the Goshen Community Theater.
The $500 awards are made annually to two high school seniors from Goshen County who’ve exhibited excellence in the arts during their school careers. Excellence in any artistic media, including dance, drama, music or fine art, qualify a student for one of the awards.

Tolman is a May graduate of Torrington High School. Active in vocal music in high school, he is the son of Kris and Angela Tolman. A tenor, his vocal activities have includes Show Choir and a cappella choir, as well as being an All-State Choir qualifier.
Tolman was also involved in theater in high school, including a role in the spring production of Little Women. He plans to study to be a chiropractor.
Cameron Atwood also graduated THS this year. He’s the son of Tom and Donna Atwood and plans to attend Eastern Wyoming College to major in music education and performance.
Atwood’s talents turn to instrumental music as a participant in concert band, pep band and jazz band throughout his high school career. He plays bass guitar, drums and piano as well as writing music. He was awarded first-place honors in a talent contest with his performance of an original composition.
