LINGLE – Lingle Pool held its first-ever free-will donation night swim and bake sale to benefit local Alzheimer’s awareness efforts Thursday. Lifeguard Cody Powell, son of Michelle and Chris, organized the event partly in honor of his grandfather, who battled Alzheimer’s.
“(Cody’s) hopes and mine are to make this an annual event … making more Goshen County residents aware of a major health concern,” Bill Marsh, who champions Alzheimer’s and Dementia efforts in the community, said, calling the fundraiser “wonderful.” He thanked the public for its support and encouragement “for we have all been touched with this horrific brain disease.”
The event raised more than $900 for local Alzheimer’s awareness.
