TORRINGTON – Suzanne Marietta Quinonez, 60, passed away May 18, 2020, in Torrington
Suzanne was born June 17, 1959, to Arnold and Maria Quinonez. They lived for a short time in Nebraska, moving to Torrington in 1971, where she grew up on Park Lane Drive. She graduated from Torrington High School in 1977 and continued her studies at the University of Wyoming, where she received her master’s in library sciences and education.
She worked for the Denver School District and finally came home to work as a School Librarian at Southeast K-12 school. She was very active at St. Rose Parish as a member of the Guadalupe Society and recently a member of the Parish Counsel.
To all who knew her, she was a kind, generous, knowledgeable and funny person who knew a song to sing for any occasion. She had an appropriate movie quote for any situation and was totally obsessed with The Wizard of Oz. She was known to her students as Miss Q and to all her family as Aunt Sue. Her smile and ever-present laugh will truly be missed.
Due to the current health crisis, the family will be having a private burial. Condolences may be sent to family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com
She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Q and Aunt Carmen.
She will be missed by her Mother, Maria; her sister, Adrianna Gmeiner (Lee) their children, Julia Loeppky (George), AnnaLisa and Joey; “just like her sister” Denny Loya (Julio), and their children, Kaleb, Emily and Haley; Aunt Chris and Aunt Rose; too many cousins and students to name. Goodbye Sis – see ya Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
