TORRINGTON – Seven rodeos are in the books as the Torrington Youth Series Rodeo (TYSR) has one event left this summer, with buckles in the balance.
The Torrington Youth Series Rodeo is a summer-long rodeo series for athletes from 5-14 years old. Offering seven events across the three different age groups, TYSR has provided seven nights full of action this summer, with the first rodeo of the year coming on May 17.
Awards are distributed to the top competitors in each event for each class. The top competitors are decided upon a scoring system that runs all season long. To be eligible for awards, a participant must compete in at least six of the eight summer rodeos.
The stage is set for the final youth rodeo of the summer. After action Tuesday during the Goshen County Fair, the lone rodeo to decide the champions is slated for Aug. 2 at 6 p.m. at the Goshen County Fairgrounds.
