YODER – The Southeast Lady Cyclone volleyball team picked up a pair of weekend wins over the Pine Bluffs Hornets and the Niobrara County Lady Tigers.
On Thursday, the No. 3-ranked Lady Cyclones traveled to No. 2-ranked Pine Bluffs, coming away with a 25-19, 20-15, 25-19, 28-26 victory.
Hailey Anderson and Ellie Schmitt led Southeast with 13 kills each. Schmitt added 14 digs, 10 assists and two serving aces, while Anderson also had 13 digs, five blocks and two aces.
Macie Murphy had 11 digs and one ace. Marjie Schmitt recorded 10 digs and 15 assists, while Morgan Ekwall had six digs, two kills and two assists.
On Saturday, the Lady Cyclones swept Niobrara County 25-16, 25-13, 25-8.
Ellie Schmitt and Anderson led Southeast with 12 kills apiece. Anderson also added a team-high 12 digs, while Schmitt added eight assists, four aces, two digs and one block. Muprhy had eight aces and seven digs, while Joycelynn Hottell had three blocks and one kill. Marjie Schmitt had 15 assists, six digs, four aces and one kill.
The Lady Cyclones (15-8 overall and 4-1 in the 2A Southeast) will travel to Lingle to face the Lady Doggers (15-6) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.
