UPTON – The Southeast Lady Cyclones rolled to a sweep of the Upton Bobcats Friday evening.
Southeast limited its hosts to only three points in the opening set of a 25-3, 25-15, 25-10 sweep over Class 1A Upton.
Senior Ellie Schmitt led the team with 10 digs, seven kills and six assists. Senior Hailey Anderson added five kills, five blocks, five aces and three digs. Katie Richardson had four blocks, three digs, two kills and two assists. Macie Murphy added five digs and one ace, while junior Morgan Ekwall had two kills, two digs and one ace. Freshman Marjie Schmitt dished out seven assists, while sophomore Joycelynn Hottell had four blocks.
The win improves the Class 2A, No. 4-ranked Lady Cyclones to 13-8 overall and 2-1 in the Class 2A Southeast quadrant. Southeast travels to the No. 2-ranked Pine Bluffs (18-4 and 3-0) Thursday for a 6 p.m. match.
