Paxton Bignell, left, with the Goshen County Economic Development Corp., dishes up a ladle of steaming-hot Prosperity Soup for Peggy Dowers of Torrington on Thursday during the second annual Goshen County Farmer’s Market Soup Cook-Off at City Park in Torrington. The GCEDC entry was judged the best soup of the day by popular vote of those in attendance at the event. The Soup Cook-off raised $480, which will go toward the Goshen County School District No. 1 Backpack Program to provide food for families in need.
