LA JUNITA, Colo. – The Eastern Wyoming College women’s basketball team saw its season come to a close in the quarterfinal round of the Region IX Tournament on Thursday.
The Lady Lancers scored only four points in the first quarter en route to a 61-49 loss to McCook Community College.
By the end of the first quarter, McCook held a 14-4 lead, and the Lady Indians outscored EWC 13-11 in the second quarter, extending their lead to 12 at halftime.
The Lady Lancers couldn’t make up any ground in the second half, as both teams played even throughout the second half, scoring 34 points apiece.
No Eastern Wyoming stats were available at press time.
The Lady Lancer season came to a close with a 14-8 record.
