GOSHEN COUNTY – Slick roads and black ice are reported along portions of U.S. Hwy. 26 west from Lingle to Interstate 25 in Platte County.
Radio traffic from the Wyoming Highway Patrol indicated at least one accident along Hwy. 26 west of Fort Laramie about 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The Wyoming Department of Transportation Travel Information website, map.wyoroad.infoindicated the road surface of Hwy. 26 was slick in spots between Lingle and Guernsey, with reports of black ice and hazardous travel from Guernsey to I-25.
Caution is advised if traveling.
The National Weather Service in Cheyenne issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for portions of southeast Wyoming, including southwest Platte County. The NWS, as of 8 a.m. Wednesday, was predicting west to southwest winds intensifying through the day into the evening and through Thursday, with 60 mile per hour gusts possible.
A second Hazardous Weather Outlook warned of light rain and snow developing throughout eastern Platt County and in to Goshen County on Wednesday morning, continuing through Wednesday evening.
