TORRINGTON – After 29 years, Shawn Madden is taking a break from calling weekly livestock sales.
Madden, co-owner of Torrington Livestock Markets LLC, announced last week that he will take some time to see what else happens in the world on Fridays.

“It’s been a good run,” Madden said. “Now I can see what else is going on out there.
“I’ll probably try something else,” he said. “I’m still a good hand, but I’m in no hurry.”
Madden said he will still fill in at the livestock sale, and will still be involved in other businesses he and his brother, Lex, own and are involved in.
Chuck Peterson, who has been a field-man for TLM, replaces Shawn in TLM ownership, along with Lex and Michael Schmitt.
